What to expect?

A unique self tour in search of the authentic stories and flavours of Valsamoggia, which have remained unchanged over time. We have devised this one-day itinerary for lovers of picturesque villages, nature as well as food and wine traditions.

You will first explore the town of Bazzano and its famous Rocca dei Bentivoglio, a majestic castle of medieval origin. You will then move on to Vignola, home of the sweet Vignola cherries, and site of another fascinating medieval castle. The backdrop is a hilly landscape dotted with vineyards and fruit trees.

In addition to train tickets and maps, this self-guided tour also includes lunch in a typical osteria. Tickets to the fortresses and a guided tour of a vinegar cellar are available on request.
