What to expect?

Starting from our travel agency in the heart of Bologna, you will set off on your day trip to the Zena Valley, an area of great geological interest. Between 5 and 2 million years ago these places were submerged by the waters of the Bolognese Intrapennine Basin, traces of which can still be found today.

Along the way you will come across the so-called 'Whale of the Zena Valley', a work of art created by the students of the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna, inspired by the remains of a 9-metre whale actually found in these places some years ago.

On board your Vespa you will also reach other points of interest of the area, such as Zena Castle, an ancient fortified village severely damaged during the Second World War, as well as the Church of Santa Maria Assunta in Pizzocalvo. From the peaks of Monte delle Formiche and Monte Bibele you can then admire the magnificent panorama of the surrounding rocky landscape.
